Combat Damage

Damage Types

Different attack animations can have one or more effects on the opponent if landed successfully.
  • Damage
  • Stun
  • Knockback

Damage

This is a simple reduction in the health of the Gladiator. THe amount of damage is applied after any armour reductions.

Stun

This causes a momentery loss of control for a player where control inputs are ignored, simulating the stun effect of the blow. Stuns will always be very short in duration. Sun also affects AI characters.

Knockback

This pushes the opponent backwards or away from the direction of the blow. The opponent staggers backwards a short distance and then recovers.
